 ear-witness the chimaira show | 15/10/03 | good news for everyone who missed chimaira's show on sunday! i was able to obtain a bootleg through the help of jörg from ihateyourheroes and his friend -=.).]wAn-Fin[.(.=-. the quality is pretty decent, at least compared to other chimaira bootlegs i have, you can even hear exactly when the "wall of death" kicks in ... seems like the one who recorded it was heavily engaged, the sound spins around in circles, you can nearly hear him moshing through the pit, hehe

the show started with chimaira delivering some serious ass-kicking, and even though they only played a very short set (and nearly only tracks from their new album) it was the best show of the evening, no need to say anything more about it! next up on stage was spineshank and although their sound was far from being as good as any other band i've seen before, they made up for it with their great stage-acting and major moshpit action (sorry to those who crossed my path, muahaha). last (and least) on stage were ill nino, no doubt about their skills, it was a flawless gig, but after the first songs it got a bit boring ... it was a very good show compared to their previous ones over here, but they've lost their appeal for me, at least when they're playing live (and even more when playing after the other two bands).
matt from chimaira supplied us with backstage-passes, so we went to see him and the guys after the show to have a little chat, which eventually ended up over some beer in a bar down the street. that was once again one of those nights to remember ...
by the way, did i tell you already how "metal-moses" parted the "pit-sea"? does "wall of death" ring a bell? no? well, see you at the next chimaira show, they'll show you how it's done!
good fight, good night | | cens0r | | | | today = roadrage day | 12/10/03 | the waiting is over, today is the day chimaira will be playing here in germany as a part of the roadrage pt.2 tour together with spineshank and ill nino. last year roadrunner gave us the roadrage pt.1 with 36 crazyfists, five pointe o and killswitch engage, exactly today one year ago ill nino played here with raging speedhorn, breed 77 and pleymo.
i'm sure chimaira and spineshank will blast ill nino away, as their new albums are quite a lot heavier than the new ill nino album, fo' shizzle!
why not let ill nino play the support and give the other two bands the full time? ill nino played here two times, i don't need to see them again! chimaira should be headlining! two hours! all three albums! right in your face! live! here! now! but no, opening act ... maybe the next time they are here!
we'll get our stuff together and gonna be off to the venue in ~1 hour, i'll let you know what happened tonight when i'm back, it's gonna be late (aftershow party, anyone?) | | cens0r | | | | so many things cause my pain | 01/10/03 | okay, that title sounds quite pathetic, and the reason i why chose it is simple: i just arrived at home from an evening with someone not named here (btw: bianca, if you read this: thanks for spoiling this perfectly good episode of my life) and i just felt like venting some feelings, and what would fit better than an overdose of chimaira. said title is a line from the lyrics of "painting the white to grey" (the name says it all), and that line got stuck in my mind ... argh, cut that crap, let's move on to the better things in life, shall we?
there are the afore mentioned chimaira, for example! they'll be playing here in cologne in less than 2 weeks at the RoadRage tour, in the very same cologne i live in for exactly one month now, that particular cologne in which i'm having a damn good time ... well, most of the time ... uhm, sometimes, at least! and then there's ... nothing ... hey you, move along, nothing to see here!

i'll try to wrap up the last 6 weeks to keep you myself up to date: i crashed my car, repaired for ~3500€, spent some days in a hospital days for being suspected of having meningitis (no clue what is was instead) and am currently busy getting my stuff together to move into my new flat in cologne - no "normal life" in sight, as always!
and that were just the highlights, 6 weeks is a lot of time for a lot of shit (and nice things, i admit) to happen, so sue me if i can't remember all that stuff, like the little makeout between you and me in the candlelight on the beach at sundown - read the first sentence again and get over it.

two halls, one public area and one 4 buisness people..
i had an all access pass and so i was able to see both halls.
nothing important ..really nothin..
i saw some little kids ran after a guy i didn´t even know..strange..am I gettin old..or is it just my sense for (for my opinnion)"good" music that makes me ignore such people..dunno..
well..back to it..in the evening we went to a party of a big label (when I say big I mean big!)
I felt like i was on a catwalk or smth.
..strange world..
Only posers..i would bet that only ´bout 1% of the whole bunch knows HOW to make music..
